The issue i have is the jam does not match with the drywall.
Install solid blocking between the studs at the base of the wall.
Assuming that the wall is wonked and the frame is straight this will suck.
With the drywall edge left ragged the finish carpenter takes over mitering the corners around the door and over the baseboard.
In some places it is even but mostly it is 1 4 1 2 below the drywall grade.
Adding wood around the door frame seems a legit way to do it actually.
